A note from Karl…about Noi
Over the weekend, Noi shared her story — one that moves me deeply every time I hear it. In her twenties, a fateful day changed everything when a car accident shattered the life she had imagined.
She spoke about growing up in a small village in Thailand, where life was simple and community was everything. Later, she became a nurse — a calling that reflected her deep compassion and desire to serve others.
When the accident left her unable to walk, Noi faced unimaginable loss. Yet through courage and determination, she chose to rebuild her life. Only two months after her injury, she returned to work from her wheelchair, continuing to care for others.
In time, she became a beacon for those facing similar challenges, showing that joy, purpose, and beauty are still possible — even when life looks different than we planned.
Through her work with Thailand’s disability community, Noi introduced me to extraordinary people who have since become part of our Thailand SEVA Trips. Each trip donates 10% to these groups, and witnessing the gratitude and light they bring is profoundly moving.
As I watched Noi speak to a full house this weekend, I was filled with pride and awe. Every day is not easy for her, yet she meets life with grace, humor, and love. I’m deeply honored to walk beside her — and reminded that, no matter our circumstances, we all have something meaningful to offer.
